Job Responsibilities
Design and implement high-quality, play-based learning experiences that align with the school curriculum and foster skill development.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources, contributing to school-wide professional development.
Attend to the physical, social, and emotional needs of children.
Create and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders including parents and colleagues.
Ensure that the planning, observation, and assessment cycle is completed and appropriately communicated to parents and the Head Teacher.
Provide parents with written reports and informal dialogue on their children's development and progress.
Maintain accountability to the Head Teacher for classroom responsibilities and adhere to school policies.
Serve as a model of professionalism when interacting with the school community.
Contribute to high-quality co-curricular activities.
Work at Central Westville on weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (8.5 hours).
Adhere to a teaching schedule that may vary but not exceed 21 hours per week.
Requirements
Native English Speaker: Must be a citizen of one of the following countries: UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.
Teaching Experience: A minimum of three years of preschool teaching experience.
Criminal Record: No prior criminal convictions.
Educational Knowledge: Must possess a strong understanding of educational theories relevant to early childhood development.
Personality: Must be kind, friendly, energetic, and exhibit good manners to serve as a role model for students.
Organizational Skills: Must be highly organized, efficient, and have excellent communication skills.
Motivation and Work Ethic: Must always have the child's best interest in mind and be able to work productively in a high-performing, multitasking environment.
Education (Preferred): A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Adolescent Development, or Educational Psychology is highly preferred.
