Job Responsibilities
Data Governance & Compliance
Develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and frameworks to ensure data consistency and integrity.
Establish data classification, access control, and retention policies to meet compliance and security requirements.
Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements (e.g., PDPA, GDPR, IFRS 17, BCBS 239) and internal data policies.
Work closely with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to monitor data security and privacy.
Data Quality & Management
Define and enforce data standards, data lineage, and metadata management practices.
Lead initiatives to improve data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across the organization.
Monitor data governance KPIs and develop reporting mechanisms to track progress and effectiveness.
Implement data stewardship programs and ensure adherence to best practices in data governance.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership
Serve as a liaison between business and IT teams to ensure alignment of data governance with business objectives.
Work with data architects, data engineers, and analytics teams to ensure proper data management processes.
Provide training and guidance to internal teams on data governance best practices and compliance requirements.
Technology & Data Strategy
Evaluate and recommend data governance tools, data management platforms, and technology solutions.
Support data-driven decision-making by improving data accessibility and usability for business units.
Ensure integration of data governance principles into enterprise data architecture and analytics initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data compliance, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM), regulatory compliance (e.g., PDPA, GDPR), and industry best practices.
Experience with data management tools, metadata management, and data lineage solutions.
Familiarity with data quality management techniques and master data management (MDM).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, legal, and business units.
